If I Could Turn Back Time, If I Could Find a Way

Life is short. It just is. Even if you make it to 90; if you ask my grandfather who turned 90 last year, he would tell you that – life is short.

A common question that people as is, “If you could go back in time, what would you change about your past? What would you do differently?”

back

My answer to this question is always the same – nothing. I would change nothing and not because I haven’t made mistakes. I would change nothing about my past because I have made mistakes.  All of my wrong turns have let me to exactly where I am today.

If you could go back in time and change something from you past, you wouldn’t be exactly who you are today; you would be different. If you accept who you are today (and you should no matter what), then you have to embrace every part of the journey that brought you here to this exact moment in time.

An appreciative review of your past experiences IS good for one thing, however. We should use self-critique of our previous decisions and behavior to make improvements in our future. Instead of ruminating over the past (even recent past), make changes to how you think and act to positively affect your future. Let go of your regrets.

Whatever it is that you regret the most is also the biggest building block of the person you are today.

Be thankful that you have had the opportunities to make mistakes. Know that you have learned and developed from your all of your life’s journeys.

Have a wonderful day!
