Imagine the following:
Life is a bowling lane with kid bumpers on each side. You are the bowling ball rolling down the lane, bouncing off of the bumpers.
The bumpers represent everything that happens in your life. They represent our circumstances at home and work. They represent failure and defeat as well as success and accomplishment. The bumpers are basically everything in life except love. The pins represent love. The bumpers exist only to help you get to your pins. There is no reason to get too caught up in the details of your bumpers. They have purpose. When you bounce off of a bumper, it will hurt a lot less if you understand why they exist. In the end, the only thing that truly matters are your pins.
Imagine if the only thing that is truly real – is love. Imagine that everything else is an illusion. Consider the following opening passage from A Course in Miracles that tells us that only love is real and nothing else:
Nothing Real Can Be Threatened; Nothing Unreal Exists; Herein Lies the Peace of God
In other words:
Nothing Real Can Be Threatened – Love cannot be diminished or harmed. It is omnipresent and indestructible.
Nothing Unreal Exists – These are three powerful words. Here is what they mean to me: Anything that is not love does not really exist, they are just your bowling bumpers. Love is the only thing that exists. Love and God are two words with the same meaning. God is where we came from and to where we will return. This existence (God) is always with
us in this life as well, but we have to see the rest of the world for what it is. We have to bounce the bumpers to find the pins. We have to dig through the mud to find the gold. Mud is just mud, so we shouldn’t get angry at it; We have to appreciate the mud because of its purpose. Life itself is like a shovel; a tool that we are to use to dig through the mud until we find the gold, which is the understanding and experience of the presence of love. Clear as mud?
Love and Let.
Choose loving thoughts and release your judgments of others.
Choosing loving words and let go of your worry about how they will be received.
Choose loving actions and care not about the result.
Have faith in love. Then let go of your worries, anxiety, and attachment to outcome.
Have a beautiful day!
