A cloud does not put out the sun. In other words, the sun is shining even if you can’t see it because of the clouds over your head.

Many great things in life are “of the sun”. Many other things in life act as clouds and block your view of the sun.
What in the world am I talking about? Stick with me.
Here are some examples of things that are “of the sun”:
Inspiration, kindness, service, thoughtfulness, empathy, truth, peacefulness, completeness, omnipotence, fullness, trust, openness, helpfulness, admiration.

Here are some examples of things that construct your clouds:
Fear, guilt, anxiety, sadness, jealousy, regret, stress, desire, worry, frustration, apprehension, panic, expectation, shame, envy, lack, addiction, self-pity, rage, defensiveness, judgment, divisiveness, anticipation, nervousness.

The words listed in the sun above describe the “true” you. If you could pull back the parts of yourself that have been layered on from learning to value all the wrong crap; if you could peel the onion you call “me”, then you would find great things in your core such as peace, love, and happiness. But, we spend our lives adding scum to our surface…or clouds to our sky. These unfortunate “add-ons” block the beauty of life. But the good news is that we can peel our onion, we can clean the scum off our pond, and we can diminish our clouds that we feel our natural warmth.
How?
Though awareness and intention. Giving attention to your clouds and recognizing them as clouds or blockades is the first and biggest step. Once you see them for what they are, you can start intentionalizing (yeah I made that word up) your thoughts, words, and actions so that your sky begins to clear. Though constant awareness and consistent effort, your overcast days will start to become beautiful, sunny, peaceful and warm.
